2015 Happy Tails

April

April is approximately 5-6 years old. She is very large for a female boxer, weighing approximately 75 pounds. She is housebroken and crate trained. April goes to the door and rings the bell when she needs to go out. Because of her size, she will probably do best in a home without small children. She plays well with other boxers, but does like to be the boss.

April is being fostered in Louisville, KY.

Roxie

Say hello to Roxie. She is 7yrs old, spayed, fully vetted, heartworm negative and micro chipped. Roxie gets along with other dogs and cats and has been in a home with children. She is a sweet boxer girl who is in need of a new home. Her dad’s job has changed and Roxie is finding herself spending long days alone.

And the stress of being boarded if her dad is out of town or different people coming to the house to check on her is taking its toll on her. She even has hair loss; which in time will grow back. If you live within 100miles of Florence, KY and are interested in knowing more about Roxie or adopting her please complete our online application. Please remember we do not adopt female boxers into homes with another large breed female.

Hoss

Hoss is an energetic 8 year old male. He spent his entire life at the end of a chain and now he is enjoying life. Hoss loves to play, especially if you’re tossing a ball. He is doing great with potty training and is fully crate trained. Hoss also loves to be next to you getting attention. He gets along with other dogs, but would be better in a home without cats. He likes to chase the kitties a little too much. Hoss will be a great addition to any family.

Henry: Adopted

Henry is a 3-4 yo brindle male. He is nicely crate trained. He is also potty trained, but expect a few accidents initially until he adjusts to his new home. Lillie Grace
& Pups

Puppies all have homes waiting. Lillie Grace is still available.

Lillie came into rescue a week ago from a breeder turn-in. We knew she was pregnant but thought we had a little bit of time. Her foster mom got her pool ready and she loved it and didn’t want to come out. She just snuggled in. She came in on a Friday and delivered on Saturday, no time at all. She delivered 7 puppies, but only 6 made it. There are 3 boys and 3 girls. The little white puppy is a female with brindle eye patch and spot on tail. Lillie is being a wonderful mother. She is about 2 yrs old and is doing well on her house training so far with nursing and everything else the poor girl has went through. She will not be ready for another 8 weeks and neither will the pups. They can all be adopted after December 3rd when they are scheduled for their spay/neuters. Puppies will have all shots and will be spayed or neutered when about 6 mo. Their adoption donation will cover expenses including the rest of their puppy shots and microchips.

The puppies will be required to attend puppy classes and certificate is to be presented to the rescue by6 6 months. Many boxers are turned into shelters or rescue because they did not receive any kind of training or socialization. Most owners find that they enjoy going to class with their dog and being a part of their development. It is so rewarding watching them learn and finally get what you want and can do it on command.

Please keep watching as we get more pics and updates from the foster mom.
