He is crate trained, and working on house training. He had a urinary track infection when he came in and is just getting over it. He loves other dogs and would do well with cats. I am a 5mo old little baby boy. I am a typical puppy and have energy to burn. I am working on my crate training and house training and am doing ok since I have just started. But just give me time and attention and I will make someone a wonderful baby boy. The rescue will require that I attend puppy classes and a copy of my graduation certificate must be furnished to them. They are planning my Neutey party right now and getting all my shots started. I hope I will have fun at my Neutey party and there will be lots of treats. I will also be micro chipped before I leave the rescue program. I am being housed in Louisville, KY.

Jessie: Adopted

Jessie was left tied out behind an Animal Hospital on a recent summer morning when the staff came to work. She had a swollen rear leg that she wasn’t putting weight on which is likely the reason she was abandoned by her family. Louisville Metro Animal Services was called to come get her. However, the clinic receptionist knew Jessie would be euthanized if she wasn’t rescued so she began calling rescues in hopes that one would take her instead. Bluegrass Boxer Rescue was able to help her & a volunteer quickly picked her up & took her to the rescue’s vet. Jessie was, understandably, in a lot of pain but still had the Boxer wiggle for her foster Mom. As you can see in her X-ray, the leg was broken. Jessie underwent surgery to repair her broken leg on July 4th. She now has a plate that holds her bone in place & is on her way to healing & many better days!

Lynx: Unavailable

My name is Lynx and I am a very special boy of 1-2 years of age. You see, my owner came outside to feed me one day and discovered I was blind. It is most likely I was born blind and my owner just never payed enough attention to me to notice. Upon discovering I was blind, my owner took me to the vet to be euthanized. He told the vet he did not have the time to mess with a blind dog. The vet staff convinced my owner to relinquish his rights to me in hopes of getting me into rescue. If a rescue could not be found quickly, I was still going to be euthanized. My foster mom was the only person who inquired about me, and picked me up on the day I was to be euthanized. I am so thankful to be in rescue…I am truly getting a second chance.

Once in my foster home, my mom noticed something else was not right with me. While I was at the vet being neutered and getting all my vaccinations, it was determined I am partially deaf. Adjusting to my new life has been really hard for me and my new mom. I am slowly learning to trust her and she is learning that I get easily overwhelmed. I have made great progress in just a week’s time, but I still have a ways to go. I already know the “sit” and “down” commands. Once I am fully acclimated to my new life, I am going to be a great dog. My foster mom and I are working really hard, so we can show everybody what a great boy I am. I love to play with other dogs and I’m learning to play tug-o-war. I will need to be adopted into a home with another dog. I really need another dog to be my mentor and to show me the ropes. I am not quite ready for adoption yet so check back for updates on my progress.
