Sassie: Adopted

Sassie is from the Green River Animal Shelter where she was turned in with 3 other boxers from a breeder. Sassie is 7 years old is doing great now that she is in rescue. She has had several litters of pups. She is really a sweetheart and loves to give lots of kisses. Sassie likes to show off her cute boxer wiggles when you talk to her. Sassie seems to have never been inside a house, and is learning all about going up and down stairs. She is learning to relax and not be “on guard” all the time, and is beginning to sit and lay in our presence. Sassy is a talker and absolutely the sweetest baby girl ever. She has mastered walking on a leash and thoroughly enjoy her daily walks.

Chase: Adopted

I am known as Chase. I came from a local kill shelter and got out just in the nick of time. I came in with a stab wound on my back. I love my new foster home and I am getting along well with the other dogs. Here is what my foster mom says about me:

I arrived at my foster family on 5/23. I get along okay with my foster family's boxer boys. They have this thing they call a 'kitty', I just can't figure it out. I sniff it as much as I can until I'm told to leave it alone and I do. They tell me I'm a good boy all the time and that I walk good on the leash. I am trying to be a good boy. I get a little excited with all of the new attention and I get the wiggles. I need a home with lots of love and no small children. Are you my forever family?

Merkel: Adopted

Merkel is a sweet older lady. She was turned in by her owners because she is too old. Merkel is fully housetrained and crate trained. She knows sit and stay and will walk nicely on a leash. She also gets along well with other dogs. We are so happy to have Merkel in rescue. All Merkel needs is a loving home to live out her remaining years, and a soft place to lay her head.

Kimball: Adopted

Kimball is approximately 2 years old, and appears to have been hit by a car. Both of his front legs were broken. His left leg is healed nicely, but his right leg required amputation. Despite having 3 legs, Kimball is still able to run and play like any other boxer. He gets along great with other dogs, both large and small. He is working on his potty training and crate training. Kimball is such a little lover, and wants to be with his foster family as much as he can. He walks nicely on a leash and loves to go for rides in the car. Kimball will fit nicely into almost any home.

Fancy: Adopted

Fancy is approximately 2 years old. She has not had an easy start in life. Fancy was seized by Animal Control for neglect. She was severely emaciated & positive for hook worms & heartworms. She has gained enough weight & is now healthy enough to withstand treatment for heartworms. Fancy has blossomed into a very pretty girl. She has picked up on crate training & house training very quickly. She loves receiving attention & will give kisses in return. She never passes up an opportunity to cuddle. Fancy enjoys playing with toys, children & other boxers. She is very gentle & has an easy going personality. She gets along with all the boxers in her foster hom, both female & male. Fancy would love to have her forever family waiting for her once she is ready for adoption.

Anna: Adopted

Anna is the sweetest little girl you ever want to meet! Sometimes I have to call her “Snow White”, because she is a princess! She weighs in at about 45 pounds and is approximately 4 years old. She gets along great with kids, adults, and other dogs. Our alpha male let her know the first week who was in charge, and she very willing has kept her place. Anna is housetrained, crate trained, and walks good on her leash. Anna is the sweet little that you need to take home and love, because she will love you right away!

Ollie: Adopted

My name is Ollie and I'm a 5 y.o. boxer mix. I’m housebroken and crate trained...sometimes I just go in my cage when I want to rest. I am good with kids of all ages. I will need a home without other large breed male dogs. My human foster siblings have nicknamed me "Harry" since my hair is longer than your average boxer. I look like and act like a purebred boxer except for my long hair. Oh well, it is okay to be a little different. I am so cute when I eat! I like to lay down when I eat with the bowl between my front legs...I like to take my time eating and really enjoy my food. I am looking for a family who thinks it is okay that I look a little different and who will love me anyway.

Sasha: Adopted

I'm Sasha and I was purchased on impulse from a breeder who was selling me & my littermates in the Wal-Mart parking lot. After only 3 days, I found myself in a foster home for the local shelter. I’m told that I was too active, and that’s why I ended up in the shelter. I'm only 8 weeks old & a Boxer. What did they expect? I’m already learning how to tell my rescue foster mom that I need to go potty & will sit for a treat if you are patient with me. I am a typical Boxer puppy, full of energy, curiosity & antics. I need lots of time & attention from my people in order to learn how to be a good family member. Please don't apply to adopt me unless you have the time & lifestyle to accommodate a very young Boxer. You will also need to take me to a basic obedience class in order to take adopt me, no exceptions. I won't leave rescue until I've had enough vaccinations for me to not get sick & after I've been spayed.

Sherman: Adopted

Sherman came into rescue from a local shelter after being hit by a car. Sherman had a broken pelvis and had to have excess air drained from his lungs multiple times. Sherman is approximately 1 year old. He should heal very well, but may have a slight limp in rear leg. It is too early to tell, but he might have a slight limp once he is all healed. Despite his circumstances, Sherman is such a wonderful boy. He appears to be housetrained and has the sweetest personality. Sherman is so loving and craves attention. He is wanting to play, but must spend quite a lot of time crated to heal properly. Once Sherman heals, he will be neutered and ready for adoption. He would love to have his forever family waiting on him once he is ready to go. We will post more pictures and updates as Sherman heals.

Athena: Adopted

Athena is 5 yrs old. Her previous owner bred her repeatedly, forcing her to live in puppy mill conditions & then dumped her & another female at the shelter when they were done with them. Athena is so happy to be treated as a member of the family & living inside her foster home. She has overcome a vitamin deficiency due to lack of sunlight & overbreeding. Athena is crate trained & housetrained. After taking care of so many puppies, it is now time for Athena to be taken care of by her forever family. She does best with male boxer companions, but still likes to have most of the attention for herself. Athena enjoys playing with toys & children.

Barbie: Adopted

Barbie is approximately 4 years old. She came into rescue positive for Heartworms & is completing treatment. Barbie loves all people & is doing well with the male & most female boxers in her foster home. She shows her excitement when greeting new people by curling up & wiggling all over. Barbie is housetrained & is working on crate training. Barbie is not suited for apartment living since she is pretty vocal while in the crate & also when she wants to play. She likes to bark when roughhousing & also likes to nibble at the sleeves of a jacket or long sleeved shirt. She has been known to pick up shoes & carry them around. So far she hasn't chewed any household items. Barbie walks pretty well on leash & responds to the sit command. Her foster family is working with her on other commands & basic house manners also. Barbie would like to have an adoptive family waiting for her after her heartworm treatment is completed. She will be ready to leave rescue after her spay is done on January 4.
